Hours: 40 hours/week | 8 hours/day
Pay Range : $16.00 - $24.21/hr. on w2

Client: SCE (Southern California Edison)

Duration : 6+ months

Position Overview
The Accounting Assistant will support the Accounts Payable and General Ledger functions within the AP Payment Operations team. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. The ideal candidate will have experience in account reconciliation, general accounting activities, and handling vendor-related transactions.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare payments accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with payment terms and agreements.
Maintain and manage documentation related to vendor master data governance.
Handle checks requiring special processing and coordinate with internal clients for pickup.
Perform general accounting duties, including monthly journal entries.
Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with miscellaneous projects and Direct Claim payment support tasks.

Required Qualifications
Experience:
o Minimum 1+ year of experience in Accounts Payable support and general ledger reconciliation.
o 3 4 years of progressively responsible general accounting work preferred.
Skills:
o Detail-oriented with strong accuracy in data entry.
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
o Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
o Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
o Basic knowledge of accounting principles, company policies, and accounting systems.

Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
