What you ll be doing
- Overseeing the smooth operation, monitoring, and maintenance of hydronic boiler and chiller systems.
- Conducting diagnostics, repairs, and rebuilds on pumps, motors, and valves.
- Executing vibration analysis and ensuring alignment of pumps and rotating equipment.
- Maintaining and repairing cooling towers and wastewater treatment systems.
- Performing welding and fabrication tasks to support system maintenance.
- Ensuring compliance with EPA regulations and environmental standards.
- Maintaining accurate logs and documentation of system performance and maintenance activities.
- Responding promptly to alarms and troubleshooting system malfunctions.
- Collaborating with maintenance, engineering, and safety teams to guarantee optimal system performance and reliability.
The right person has
- A high school diploma or GED; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in operating hydronic boiler and chiller systems.
- A strong mechanical aptitude with experience in pump and motor repair/rebuild.
- Proficiency in welding, pipefitting, and mechanical alignment techniques.
- Knowledge of vibration analysis tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with cooling tower and wastewater system operations.
- An understanding of EPA regulations and environmental compliance practices.
- The ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A valid state or local boiler operator license.
- EPA 608 Certification (Universal).
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
