Business Systems Analyst (Finance / Data Mapping / Azure DevOps)
About the Role

Looking for a strong Business Systems Analyst (BSA) who can effectively bridge the gap between business and technical teams. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in requirements gathering, story writing, and cross-team coordination, with hands-on experience in data mapping, Azure DevOps, and SQL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Owners (POs) and SMEs to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements.

  • Write clear, detailed user stories with strong acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment with delivery teams.

  • Perform data mapping (with emphasis on user-level permissions) to support system workflows.

  • Use Azure DevOps to manage requirements, track progress, and support delivery pipelines.

  • Create and run SQL queries for data validation, reporting, and analysis.

  • Collaborate with developers, testers, and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain smooth project execution.

  • Ensure clear communication and strong stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of BA/BSA experience with hands-on involvement in end-to-end project delivery.

  • Strong expertise in data mapping, including permission-level/user-level mapping.

  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog and workflow management.

  • Solid SQL skills for data analysis and validation.

  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, actionable requirements and user stories.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across technical and business teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to grant management systems or community grant workflows.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, Agile environments.
