Job Description:

Duration: 6 month contract to hire
Location: onsite Gaithersburg, MD

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Temporary Automation Engineer to provide vital support to our automation team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge and experience with Siemens Desigo and Allen-Bradley PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems. This temporary position will contribute to the efficient operation and maintenance of our automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the automation team to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize Siemens Desigo and Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI systems.
  • Assist in the development of automation-related procedures and documentation.
  • Provide technical expertise in diagnosing and resolving automation-related issues.
  • Support ongoing automation projects and assist in the integration of new automation systems.
  • Participate in routine system monitoring and data collection activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all automation activities.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of preventative maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with the team to evaluate and recommend improvements in automation processes.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior technicians and colleagues as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong expertise in Siemens Desigo and Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI systems.
  • Proven experience in automation maintenance, troubleshooting, and system integration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard safety and quality regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements.
