Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Systems Operations Engineer to join our Technology Organization and be part of our Chief Technology Office (CTO) team. Learn more about the career areas and business divisions at wellsfargojobs.com.

In this role partnering with the Technology Major Incident Communications Commander, you will act as an Incident Communicator to communicate status on Major Incidents with reputational, regulatory compliance, customer, business impact, which require an immediate coordinated response and timely communications. You will lead communications of complex technical issues recovery status and initiatives related to large scale applications, systems, databases, or other technical products and services and partner with Incident Commander, Platform, and Business teams in capturing impacts and resolution activities status. You will collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to communicate technical issues in a timely manner. You will make an impact by building and maintaining relationships with business and technology partners to support rapid Major Incident recovery and contribute to increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
  • Translate advanced technology experience, in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommend innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
  • Provide training and mentoring to less experienced team members on guidebook changes and lead team to meet technical deliverables, while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
  • Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Identify opportunity for process improvements within technical support strategies and plans
  • Contribute to increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
  • Build and maintain relationship with business and technology partners to support rapid Major Incident recovery
  • You will exercise some independent judgment to analyze performance trends and recommend process improvements while developing understanding of technical process controls or standards and be an internal consultant for the use of tools and processes


Required Qualifications, US:
  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of experience with complex issue resolution
  • 2+ years of experience with technology delivery and relationship management with small and large business units in a large corporate environment

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience as Technical Writer or Technical Project management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Command center operations or Major Incident management experience
  • Experience working with Service Now or equivalent
  • Experience working with Microsoft Teams or equivalent
  • Window, Linux Server OS, Network & routing topology, & IT Support fundamentals
  • Physical and virtual server technology fundamentals
  • Experience working with Cloud technologies
  • Experience working in an Agile team environment

Job Expectations:
  • Exercise some independent judgment to analyze performance trends and recommend process improvements while developing understanding of technical process controls or standards
  • Work as an internal consultant regarding use of tools and processes
  • Initial engagement of work schedule includes 10 Hour Shifts with front half schedules (Sun - Wed) or back half schedules (Wed-Sat)
  • Open to work in flexible hours, on call support in a 24x7 command center environment
  • Willingness to work on-site as per in-office expectation guidelines at stated location
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
