Job Details

We are hiring a Disaster Recovery Engineer in Milwaukee, WI (Hybrid - 3 days/week).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for critical financial systems, including trading platforms, payment gateways, and data warehouses.
  • Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses specific to financial operations and regulatory requirements (e.g., FFIEC, SOX, GLBA).
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and compliance teams to ensure DR plans align with enterprise risk management frameworks.
  • Implement and manage backup, replication, and failover technologies across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Lead regular DR testing and simulations; document outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor DR readiness and ensure compliance with financial industry standards and audit requirements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of DR procedures, configurations, and recovery workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in disaster recovery or systems engineering within a financial institution or regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems architecture and data protection strategies.
  • Experience with DR tools and platforms (e.g., Zerto, Veeam, Azure Site Recovery, AWS Backup).
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and standards (e.g., FFIEC, PCI DSS, ISO 22301).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and incident response skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CBCP, CISSP, or CISA are preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with high-availability trading or transaction systems.
  • Knowledge of encryption, secure data transfer, and compliance auditing.
  • Scripting or automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for DR orchestration.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
