Job Details

Our client, a luxury goods retailer located in northern, New Jersey, is looking to hire a Salesforce Core Developer for a full-time role. The developer will work on a hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite per week in the office. This role is instrumental in the design, development, and implementation of robust, scalable future state system design across the core Salesforce platform. The position requires a strong blend of declarative and programmatic expertise, dedication to data integrity best practices, and the ability to translate business requirements into desired Salesforce solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Development & Customization

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom solutions using Apex (Classes, Triggers, Batch Apex, Queueable Apex), Visualforce, and the Lightning Component Framework (LWC and/or Aura).
  • Implement complex business processes using declarative tools such as Flow, Process Builder (or Flow Migrations), and Workflow Rules, knowing when to choose between low-code and code-based solutions.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and middleware tools such as Mulesoft.
  • Write and execute comprehensive unit, integration, and user acceptance test plans to ensure code quality and system reliability.

Collaboration & Analysis

  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to understand, refine, and translate functional requirements into technical designs.
  • Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) following Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Conduct code reviews for peers, focusing on Salesforce development best practices, deployment efficiency, coding standards, and platform limitations.

Platform Management & Best Practices

  • Manage metadata and releases using modern DevOps processes and tools (e.g., Salesforce Dev Console and Github).
  • Proactively identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities, and escalate system performance issues accordingly.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the Salesforce platform's core capabilities, limitations, and future release features, recommending strategic adoption where appropriate.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to data security, data model integrity, and large data volume considerations, especially revolving around transactional data.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of hands-on, professional development experience on the Salesforce Platform.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I (Required)
  • Proven proficiency in Apex programming (triggers, classes, controllers) with a strong emphasis on scalable and bulkified code.
  • Expertise in Lightning Web Components (LWC) and/or Aura Components for building modern, responsive user interfaces.
  • Solid understanding of the Salesforce data model, security model, and declarative automation tools (Flow).
  • Experience with Salesforce integration patterns and technologies, including REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Proficiency with SOQL and SOSL for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Github, and CI/CD/DevOps methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Desired Skills:

  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II (Highly Preferred)
  • Additional certifications such as Certified Administrator, Application Architect, or Data Architect are a plus.
  • Experience with specific clouds (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, or Industry Clouds like Financial Services Cloud, Health Cloud).
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and general web development technologies.
  • Experience working in a complex, multi-org, or heavily integrated environment.
