Principal Engineer Frontend Technologies Level 3

Location: Cincinnati, OH
Salary: $70.00 USD Hourly - $75.00 USD Hourly
Description: Responsibilities

• Act as Senior Web Lead to define and uphold web engineering best practices.
• Implement design principles ensuring performance, accessibility, and responsive UX across devices.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineering teams to iterate on features.
• Develop and maintain applications and features for customers and internal associates.
• Integrate with APIs and work closely with API teams to deliver new experiences.
• Review and optimize existing code; plan upgrades and future enhancements.
• Design and build frameworks for scalable web applications.
• Set and monitor performance indicators, proactively improve metrics.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and advocate for innovation.

Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in Web UI development with strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• At least 5 years of React/Redux commercial experience within the last 2 years.
• Excellent programming skills in JavaScript (ES2015+).
• Hands-on experience with Git and npm in collaborative environments.
• Solid understanding of:
  • Software Design Principles and Patterns
  • Browser fundamentals (HTTP, APIs, event loop, render cycle)
  • Build tools (Webpack, Rollup)
  • CI/CD pipelines and tools
  • Automated testing (unit, functional, contract, mocking)
  • Application performance tuning (Lighthouse, browser dev tools)
  • Accessibility standards (WAI-ARIA, WCAG)
  • Progressive Web Apps (PWA) technologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with functional programming in JavaScript.
• Familiarity with WebAssembly (Wasm).
• Server-side development using Node.js or similar frameworks.
• Testing frameworks: Jest, Mocha.
• Build tools: Webpack, Rollup, Yarn, Babel.
• Automation tools: Webdriver IO, GitLab.
• Exposure to other UI frameworks: Angular, Vue, Stencil, Svelte.
• Knowledge of Web Components, Flowtype/TypeScript.
• Experience with NGINX, Bash scripting, Cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Cloud Foundry).
• Containerization with Docker.
