Job Title: Process Architect / Business Analyst (Runbook Development Consultant)
Location: Remote
Position Type: Contract/Consultant
Duration: 12+ Months
Position Summary:
Client is seeking an experienced Process Architect / Business Analyst to lead the development of comprehensive runbooks and documentation for critical PeopleSoft operations. This role will support knowledge transfer during URI's transition to Workday by capturing and organizing detailed process information across HR, Finance, Payroll, and Campus Solutions modules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with PeopleSoft developers and IT stakeholders to gather and document technical and business processes.
- Lead structured interviews and workshops to extract process workflows and support requirements.
- Develop detailed and user-friendly runbooks, including:
- Step-by-step instructions
- Troubleshooting guides
- System architecture, interfaces, and dependencies
- Key contacts and escalation paths
- Reference materials and checklists
- Identify risks and process gaps, and propose actionable improvements.
- Organize documentation for ease of use by backfill developers and support teams.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, up to date, and ready for knowledge transfer.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- At least 8 years of experience as a process architect, business analyst, or technical writer in enterprise systems.
- Proven experience in documenting complex systems and creating runbooks/support guides.
- Strong interview and facilitation skills with technical SMEs.
- Exceptional written communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft environments and technical support processes.
- Ability to work independently and manage remote collaboration effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education environments.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, Workday, Oracle, or SAP.
- Background in IT service management or operations.
- Familiarity with technical documentation tools or knowledge base platforms (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, etc.).
