The Role
Responsibilities:
- Gather, document, and manage business and technical requirements. This includes stakeholder interviews, use case development, and traceability management.
- Model current and future state business processes, and create data models to support system design and analysis, are essential.
- Strong critical thinking and the ability to apply structured techniques to investigate problems, identify opportunities, and propose data-driven solutions are key.
- Work closely with developers and familiarity with the following are preferred: DevOps fundamentals, Data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python/Pandas), Agile methodologies.
- Clear communication-both written and verbal-is vital. Business analysts must translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language and manage diverse stakeholder expectation.
- Business analysts will be facing off to Bankers so engagement soft skills are critical.
- Soft skills like negotiation, facilitation, and adaptability. These help analysts navigate ambiguity, manage conflict, and drive consensus.
- Deeply understand the needs of the Coverage, Advisory & the Capital Markets space in Global Banking and prioritize user stories to achieve business goals.
- Process design and re-design including strategies to addressing challenges.
- Working in agile environments with strong understanding of agile delivery frameworks and product ownership (such as performing product owner role in a scrum team).
- Delivery complex products to clients, ideally within the financial industry preferably investment banking.
- Team player with an enthusiastic and proactive personality, a true agile mindset and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong active listening and communication skills to build networks and partnerships at all levels.
