Job Title: Data Modeler (Erwin & Advanced Data Modeling Tools)
Location: Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 - 12 Months Contract
Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled Data Modeler with deep expertise in Erwin Data Modeler and other advanced data modeling tools. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining logical and physical data models that support enterprise-wide data architecture and analytics initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models across multiple platforms and projects.
Use Erwin Data Modeler to document data models, metadata, and relationships.
Collaborate with data architects, engineers, and business analysts to translate business requirements into well-structured data models.
Perform data modeling for relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases.
Review and optimize existing data models for performance, consistency, and scalability.
Support data governance and data quality initiatives by ensuring modeling standards and best practices are followed.
Generate DDL scripts and support schema deployment in coordination with DBAs and development teams.
Maintain version control and documentation of data model changes.
Required Skills:
7+ years of experience in data modeling, including hands-on use of Erwin Data Modeler.
Strong understanding of relational databases, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling.
Familiarity with enterprise data architecture and metadata management.
Experience working with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar RDBMS.
Proficiency in SQL and experience in analyzing and reverse-engineering existing database schemas.
Knowledge of data governance, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with other modeling tools (e.g., Power Designer, Toad Data Modeler, Hackolade for NoSQL).
Exposure to cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Google Cloud Platform BigQuery).
Understanding of NoSQL data models (e.g., document-based, key-value stores).
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
