Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Microsoft 365 / Azure cloud-based solutions that align with business needs. This role is responsible for ensuring performance, security, and cost-efficiency across Microsoft 365 environments, while driving automation, compliance, and continuous improvement. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud adoption, enforce governance, and advance the organization's digital transformation initiatives.

responsibilities:
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable, highly available cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Administer Windows 365 environments and manage virtualized infrastructure (Hyper-V/VMware) to support hybrid and remote work models.
- Implement and manage private and hybrid cloud solutions, including Azure Arc and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI).
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, and PowerShell to automate deployment, provisioning, and configuration.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization, automate scaling and maintenance, and provide recommendations for technology improvements.
- Implement and enforce cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), Azure Active Directory (AAD), RBAC, encryption, and zero-trust architecture.
- Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies.
- Implement robust cloud monitoring and observability solutions (e.g., Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Splunk) to proactively detect and resolve performance and security issues.
- Develop automated remediation workflows to reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR) for cloud incidents.
- Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning, ensuring data integrity and system availability.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including cloud architecture, configuration procedures, and security policies.
- Generate and analyze reports on system performance, health, and compliance metrics.
- Collaborate with DevOps, IT operations, application teams, and business units to ensure alignment of cloud initiatives with organizational goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and IT staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, IT infrastructure, or enterprise architecture, with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing solutions on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Proven experience implementing and managing hybrid cloud environments, including Windows 365, Azure Arc, and virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V or VMware.
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools (PowerShell).
- Extensive experience integrating and supporting cloud and on-premises security solutions, including:
- Microsoft 365 - including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft 365 security and compliance solutions
- Azure Infrastructure Services - such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Azure Active Directory (AAD), Azure Arc, and Azure Files
- Identity and Access Management - including Azure AD, Conditional Access, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and role-based access control (RBAC)
- Security and Monitoring Tools - including Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM), and Azure Security Center
- Automation and Infrastructure as Code - using tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, PowerShell, and Azure CLI
- Hybrid Cloud Solutions - including integration with on-premises Active Directory, Hyper-V, and System Center, as well as hybrid identity and device management using Intune and Autopilot
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity - leveraging Azure Backup, Site Recovery (ASR), and Microsoft 365 data retention and eDiscovery features
- In-depth understanding of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), RBAC, encryption, and zero-trust architectures.
- Experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Splunk) and automated incident remediation workflows.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-aligned solutions.
- Effective communicator and collaborator, with experience mentoring junior team members and working across cross-functional teams.

- Microsoft Hyper-V Certification
- Strong knowledge of automation tools, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Experience with hybrid cloud solutions, cloud security best practices, and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Benchmarks).
