We are currently seeking a IT Support Specialist in Devens, MA.
Salary: Depending on Experience ($85000 to 90K maybe
Travel: 3 Days in Devens MA office, 2 Days in Waltham MA office on a weekly basis
Active Directory, Office 365, and Infrastructure protocol experience (DNS, DHCP, etc.) these are important.
Position Summary:
- The responsibilities of an IT Support Specialist are to provide support for all end user hardware and software issues.
- This includes day-to-day support, application setup and troubleshooting of internal IT supported applications.
- Troubleshoot PC hardware problems and provides basic PC hardware maintenance when needed.
- May conduct IT classes for new hires and manage the setup of users onto various network-based systems.
- Responsible for the automation and management of the client PC imaging process and client software deployment process.
- Serves as escalation point for junior level support staff. Performs other related duties as directed by the manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide end user support and consulting related to the use of computers in the Bio-Techne network.
- Prepare training documents to be distributed to end users.
- Coordinate both on-boarding of new user s equipment ordering, delivery, and setup as well as offboarding users, collecting company equipment, upkeep of inventory tracking, and removal of system access.
- Setup new users into various systems and provide access to approved applications and other network-based resources.
- Logs and tracks incidents and requests from identification through resolution. Manages IT
- Support queue by assigning and following up with other support staff involved in resolution to ensure incidents are resolved, requests are filled, and the customer communication is complete.
- Provide troubleshooting of network-based applications, PC hardware/software and printers/peripherals.
- Train new and existing computer users on the use of the network and provide corporate computer applications orientation.
- Prepare and/or maintain network reference and IT policy materials for new hires and existing employees.
- Participate in all process & continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist IT and other departments in the setup, maintenance and user support of new or existing computer applications.
- Works with facilities team to support audio and visual systems for company conference rooms.
- May work with configuring and supporting industry specific instrument computing environments.
- Work as a team member on pre-approved projects with other IT personnel in Minneapolis and with the global Bio-Techne IT team.
- Demonstrated skills in time management to meet deadlines and requirements.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft technologies, network technologies, VMware, network switches and other computer network devices.
- Follow company policies and practices as outlined in Employee Handbook and follow guidelines regarding onsite safety training.
- Must adhere to all HIPAA & PHI compliance regulations.
Education and Experience:
- Associate s degree in computer support or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of related experience required.
- Office 365 and Active Directory very important
- Certifications such as A+, Network+, MCSA, or other Microsoft certifications are preferred.
- Must have experience supporting Windows based PC s as well as applications on Windows or Linux based operating systems.
- Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to apply these skills to assist PC users in solving their day-to-day computer problems.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all employees and exhibit a strong customer support mentality.
- Support may require availability during non-prime work hours.
- Must be able to work in a fast pace environment, multitask and be able to efficiently help with multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of current computer systems and software.
- Knowledge of computer networking.
- Knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Outlook, DHCP/DNS, Active Directory, files systems, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WSUS, SCCM, etc.
- Knowledge of software packaging methodologies and automated software installation.
- Skills in assisting customers in a professional manner.
- Skills in problem solving; including the ability to identify and appropriately evaluate a course of action.
- Ability to plan, organize and multi-task to complete assignments in an efficient manner.
