Title: Principal Integration Architect - Java AWS (M&A Focus)

Location: Bellevue, WA (Hybrid, Day 1 Onsite)

Must Have: Java AWS Architect, Integration Architect, Hands On Coding, Merger and Acquisitions, and previous telecom domain experience.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Principal Integration Architect to lead the technical merging of systems following a recent acquisition. This role is critical and requires a unique blend of high-level architectural strategy, deep expertise in Java/AWS microservices, and a willingness to be hands-on coding to deliver complex integration solutions from scratch.

You will be responsible for defining the integration roadmap between the acquired company's core platforms and T-Mobile's extensive ecosystem, ensuring speed, security, and scalability from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

M&A Integration Strategy: Own the end-to-end technical strategy for migrating and integrating critical business functions (e.g., Billing, CRM, Inventory) from the acquired company into T-Mobile's target state architecture.

Hands-on Connector Development: Design, develop, and implement high-throughput, resilient integration connectors and APIs primarily using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS services. Expected to spend 30-50% of time actively coding.

Architectural Design: Define the target-state architecture, including API specifications, data contracts, security protocols, and non-functional requirements (scalability, reliability).

AWS Services Expertise: Lead the utilization of AWS integration tooling, focusing on event-driven architectures (EDA) using services like Amazon SQS, SNS, Kinesis, and Lambda.

Technical Leadership: Act as the subject matter expert, guiding junior developers, performing technical reviews, and setting the coding and architectural standards across the integration team.

Roadmap & Governance: Drive architectural governance and decision-making, clearly communicating trade-offs and risks to executive stakeholders and technical teams.

Required Qualifications:

Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 5+ years in a Solution or Integration Architect role.

M&A/Integration Background: Proven, tangible experience leading the post-merger technology integration of systems, ideally within the Telecommunications, Financial Services, or high-transaction industries.

Deep Java Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of Java (11+), Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.

AWS Expertise: Extensive experience designing and deploying complex, enterprise-scale solutions on AWS. Expertise in Amazon API Gateway, Lambda, SQS/SNS, Kinesis, EKS/Docker, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).

Integration Patterns: Mastery of synchronous (REST/GraphQL) and asynchronous (Message Queues, Streaming) integration patterns. Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar high-volume streaming platforms is highly desirable.

DevOps/Tooling: Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/Jenkins), testing automation, and robust logging/monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).

Preferred Skills

Prior experience in the T-Mobile or telecommunications technology landscape.

AWS Certified Solution Architect (Professional) or similar high-level certification.

Experience with multiple data stores, including NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB) and relational databases (Aurora/PostgreSQL).
