Detailed Description

Core Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

8+ years of hands-on testing and automation experience with Selenium WebDriver or similar (i.e. Robot Framework) and/or software development experience in any language (i.e. Python, Java,etc.,)

4+ years of hands-on SQL database experience (i.e. insert/update statements for data setup, delete/update statements for data teardown, select statements with simple joins for data verification)

2+ years of hands-on testing of REST APIs (i.e. verifying HTTP status code and JSON response body using POSTMAN); bonus if experience includes automation

2+ years of deep CI/CD pipeline experience (i.e. setting automation suite in deployment pipeline, constantly tweaking for optimal value and user-friendly test reports) with either Github actions, Codefresh and Jenkins

2+ years of Playwright framework using TypeScript

6+ years of experience working on an agile team

Ability to think critically, communicate with other team members and ask questions

Display initiative, be able to work independently as a strong individual contributor with minimal guidance, and be an integral part of an agile team via superior collaboration and team playing skills

Ability to figure out efficient ways of working to meet deadlines in a fast-paced start-up like environment

Assist other SDETs in guiding them with technology or process as needed

Actively contribute to, and follow the agile team norms set forth, including but not limited to attending daily scrum calls, backlog refinement, retrospective and other agile meetings

Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are a must

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

Be a Test Architect on an agile team with multiple developers, SDETs, an architect, a product owner and a scrum master

Contributes to Somos' automation strategy. Leads test scripting and security automation activities and testing procedures to automate processes.

Assesses areas of improvement and identifies best tools for scaling, self-service, virtualization, and integration.

Develops testing strategies for large, complex systems, applying knowledge of design concepts and procedures. Provides technical direction to formulate and develop effective test architectures.

Be part of a multi-year/multi-team project to build an AWS web application with a ReactJS frontend, Spring framework microservices (REST APIs) backend, and Aurora database

SDETs will be responsible for owning the testing of a user story (including manual & automated testing) and perform in-sprint automation using Robot Framework, as well as collaborating on Slack with the other SDETs to review overnight regression test failures (if any)

Standard 2-week sprints (daily standups, weekly refinements, bi-weekly sprint demos and retros)

Bachelor s degree in computer science, Computer engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications & Skills (if any):

AWS or similar Cloud experience is a plus

Experience in shift left testing is a plus

Experience with JMeter or any performance tool is a plus

Telecom industry experience is a plus

Comfortable working on a Mac or other Unix-based OS

Experience in testing AI/ML, big data and reporting is a plus
