Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Security Engineer II. Analyzing and implementing tools to strengthen security posture at Akamai; Building proof of concept, security control prototypes; Managing and deploying security solutions at scale; Studying preventative tools for identity, access management, intrusion prevention, and vulnerability detection; Triaging vulnerabilities submitted by Security Researchers; Analyzing and monitoring external attack surfaces and threats and developing mitigation solutions to protect Akamai Compute services; Implementing, maintaining, and improving the accuracy of existing automation tools to reduce false positive security threats; Instilling a secure-by-design culture by continually educating on security best practices; and Participating in projects including: Asset inventory & classification, identity & access management, and information security management. Required Qualification:

Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems, or Information Technology, plus six (6) months of experience in job offered or closely related technical role. Must have: Six (6) months of experience with the following: Vulnerability Assessment; Architecture Reviews; Distributed Systems; Digital Authentication; Security Information and Event Management (SIEM); Cloud Security; Security Research; Cryptography; Technical Writing; Penetration Testing; and Zero Trust.

Compensation:

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $108846 - $168100/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
