Job Details

Title : UX/UI Designer

Location : Herndon VA

Duration : Long Term

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate design sprints with local and multi-time zone resources.
  • Follow industry best practices and company conventions to develop engaging in-vehicle and out-of-vehicle user experiences using the latest design trends while considering driver safety guidelines.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and user experience group team members to design and develop features and functions for CV programs efficiently.
  • Optimize visual design and user experiences through A/B user testing and stakeholder input.
  • Participate in workshops with internal and external stakeholders to understand the UI framework for each application
  • Present design process and decisions to stakeholders with rationale and potential alternatives.
  • Create UX/VX prototypes/animations to illustrate key concepts.
  • Document both UX and VX design experiences clearly and in detail, both for engineering consumption and executive-level summaries and Automotive Partner consumption.
  • Create, Crop, Re-Size, Re-Color, etc., various assets and design comps for appropriate consumption by engineering/stakeholder teams.
  • Respond to engineering requests for clarification/alteration on time.
  • Remain well-versed in UI standards, key-platform HIGs, NHTSA and Driver Distraction Guidelines, and emerging trends in the connected vehicle space and within the larger Automotive and Digital Design industry.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the Digital UX and Design industry
  • Proficiency with Figma
  • Adobe Creative Suite, including XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, etc.
  • Ability to create visual design comps and UX wireframes.
  • Experience with prototyping tools and video-editing/animation tools for illustrating design concepts.
  • Experience with mobile application design and user experience
  • Experience with responsive web design and user experience
  • Experience with e-commerce/transactional experiences a plus
  • Experience with Service Design principles and workflows a plus
  • Experience with set up and management of design systems a plus

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Figma
  • Adobe Creative suite including XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects
  • Style Guide tools such as Zeplin, InVision, etc.
  • Various interaction and design prototyping tools include Figma, Adobe XD, InVision, Miro, Lucid Chart, etc.
  • Through knowledge of Google Suite (Slides, Sheets, Docs, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

EDUCATION

Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
