Job Description:
As an Embedded Controls System Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for validating integrated ECU hardware and software systems. You will develop and execute test plans based on system requirements, analyze results, and support the development of test infrastructure. Your work will ensure the reliability and performance of embedded systems across automated, bench, and in-vehicle environments.

Job Description:
As an Embedded Controls System Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for validating integrated ECU hardware and software systems. You will develop and execute test plans based on system requirements, analyze results, and support the development of test infrastructure. Your work will ensure the reliability and performance of embedded systems across automated, bench, and in-vehicle environments.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with control systems engineers to define test strategies and validation schedules.
- Design and develop test cases and scripts based on ECU software and system requirements.
- Execute validation tests, analyze results, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Design and build test harnesses and load banks to simulate vehicle environments using schematics and component specifications.
- Simulate vehicle components such as sensors, switches, and actuators for closed-loop testing.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to software, hardware, and wiring during validation.
- Ensure hardware validation is completed in coordination with suppliers and test labs.
- Contribute to the development of automated test tools and real-time plant models.
- Participate in functional safety discussions (HARA/DFMEA) and support HIL system design and upgrades.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering (or related field such as Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics with relevant experience).
- 2+ years of experience in embedded control system development or validation.
- Understanding of vehicle systems such as engine, powertrain, chassis, or body controls.
- Experience with automated test development and vehicle communication protocols.
- Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python and debugging techniques.
- Experience with HIL systems (e.g., dSPACE, ETAS, NI).
- Familiarity with CAN, J1939, UDS protocols.
- Knowledge of OBD2 standards (J1979, ASAM MCD3-D, ASAM ODX).
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and real-time plant modeling.
- Familiarity with Git, shell scripting, and ASAM XIL v2+.
- Experience with ECU calibration and measurement tools (CCP/XCP, ASAM MCD3-MC).
- Exposure to lifecycle management tools (e.g., PTC Integrity, Windchill PLM).
