Q&A Updated Sourcing Parameters for Software Engineer Role
What is the core technical requirement?
.NET / ASP.NET is required. SQL Server and relational database management are also required.
Android (Java/Kotlin) is ideal, but we will consider strong .NET engineers who are motivated to learn
Android (the company will train).
How should we prioritize Android vs. .NET?
Android development experience is highly preferred, but not a hard requirement. A solid .NET
foundation plus initiative to learn Android is acceptable.
What kind of candidate qualities are most important beyond technical
skills?
Self-motivation, independence, and initiative are critical. We want problem-solvers who thrive
without micromanagement, take ownership, and use creativity to build solutions.
What should we highlight as selling points to candidates?
The company is financially secure and on the upswing.
Small but mighty team; this is a ground-level opportunity.
Proprietary, mission-driven work that directly impacts public safety and civil protection.
Career growth, visibility, and promotion opportunities.
Autonomy and creativity - not a micromanaged environment.
What are strong pluses?
Android (Java/Kotlin) experience
AWS (RDS, CloudFormation, EC2, ALB, VPC, CloudWatch, WAF)
Security exposure (AWS security architecture, monitoring, SIEM)
Front-end frameworks (Angular or React)
What should be excluded?
iOS-only developers with no Android interest
Pure web-only .NET without willingness to learn Android
What signals of fit should we look for?
Candidates mentioning "startup," "small team," "greenfield," "architecture," "owner," "self-starter,"
"Autonomy," or "independent" in their background or experience
