Facilities Technician

New Journey, a Genesis10 company, is seeking a Facilities Technician for a 6 month contract position with the potential for a contract extension or conversion.

Compensation: $21.50 per hour

The main function of a Facilities Technician is to provide general maintenance support for the assigned buildings.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor the facility to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
• Troubleshoot power, HVAC system and controls, and mechanical systems.
• Maintain general & preventative maintenance, carpentry, plumbing systems, and vendor management.
• Replace lighting system bulbs and ballasts as needed.
• Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials, as requested.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years experience required.

• Becomes familiar with the equipment managed by the team and the methods required to use them properly. This includes fire/life safety, HVAC, Critical Power, plumbing, security, PA, and other building related equipment.
• Delivers mail and packages.
• Perform daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly inspections of emergency lights, fire extinguishers, and safety eye wash stations.
• Must have an understanding of the importance of following PM schedules.
• General basic interior and exterior maintenance - plumbing, filter changes, painting and patching, fixture installation, lighting.
• Recognize and complies with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas and equipment.

• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage one time.
• Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
