We are searching for the best talent for an Engineering Technician IV to be in Jacksonville, FL.

The candidate will provide technical and process support for the improvements to the production line. The responsibilities of the Engineering Technicians are to design, develop, install, and test improvements - both hardware and software. Also, support process improvements, address quality issues, provide protocol support, and manage deployment of enhancements to the line. Utilizes Process Excellence tools. Maintain current knowledge and adhere to provisions of Engineering Standards / best practices, FDA, OSHA, GMP, MPs, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, equipment specifications and process specifications. Support new products and new installations. Create, review, and update electro/mechanical drawings, operating manuals and procedures, maintenance and calibration procedures, and training manuals as required by the scope of projects that are assigned. Investigate alternative methods and procedures to reduce variability and improve equipment reliability. Assist in the design of experiments, under operational and developmental conditions, to decrease cycle times, increase yields, and improve machine reliability, repeatability, and standardization. Vigilant for shop safety, environmental safety, product quality, ergonomics, and hazardous energy control. Provides technical training to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Operations on new equipment. Adheres to environmental policy and procedures and supports department environmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides technical and process support for improvement to the production lines.
  • Supports process improvements, addresses quality issues, provides protocol support, and manages deployment of enhancements to the line.
  • Demonstrates mastery and is considered an expert/leader for key machine and/or software competencies across the entire manufacturing production line.
  • Develops training, performs training, and certifies technicians
  • Is recognized and respected as an individual that has thorough technical competencies on production equipment and/or software.
  • Supports engineering projects to improve the throughput, cycle time, and yield.
  • Provides troubleshooting support to MAKE while adhering to all quality and safety procedures.
  • Supports and leads quality initiatives, such as tasks related to CAPAs and NCs as assigned.
  • Initiates and manages improvement projects.
  • Maintains current knowledge and adhere to provisions of Engineering Standards / best practices, FDA, OSHA, GMP, MPs, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, equipment specifications and process specifications.
  • Creates, reviews, and updates electro/mechanical drawings, operating manuals and procedures, maintenance and calibration procedures, and training manuals as required by the scope of projects that are assigned.
  • Investigates alternative methods and procedures to reduce variability and improve equipment reliability.
  • Assists in the design of experiments, under operational and developmental conditions, to decrease cycle times, increase yields, and improve machine reliability, repeatability, and standardization.
  • Provides technical training to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Operations on new equipment.

Qualifications

Required:
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • A minimum of 2 years of college, trade, or military training in a technical discipline OR high school diploma and equivalent industrial experience emphasizing electro-mechanical, PLC, and pneumatics.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant technical/vocational industry experience is required (electrical, mechanical, process, injection molding, pneumatics, hydraulics/fluid flow, and/or PLC's)
  • Maintenance or engineering experience with high volume production line environment is required.
  • Working knowledge and/or troubleshooting skills in the following areas are highly preferred: process improvement, injection molding, robotics, PLC systems, electro/mechanical devices, servo systems, safety devices, equipment installation, debug and qualification, control circuitry development, electro-mechanical troubleshooting/repair, equipment prototyping, production start-up, equipment process development and mechanical devices, controller, mechanical fabrication design, electrical and mechanical prints.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
  • Ability to work in an empowered work team environment is required.
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the role is required; includes stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, light lifting (Up to 25 lbs.), grasping, hearing, visual acuity, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, crawling.

Preferred:
  • Certifications in injection molding technology, PLC, servo systems, toolmaker, millwright, machine setting, rigging, journeyman electrician/apprentice
