VDart is seeking a SCADA Applications Engineer to work on behalf of one of the world s largest renewable energy developers. In this role, you will develop, program, integrate, commission, and test SCADA systems to control renewable power plants. You will collaborate with project teams, vendors, and consultants to ensure seamless integration and performance of SCADA systems, including Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Systems. This is a non-managerial, hands-on technical position reporting to the Sr. SCADA Commissioning Manager.

- Location: Juno Beach, FL (Remote; 50% Travel Required)
- Duration: Long Term
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate, program, commission, and test power plant controllers and SCADA systems.
- Ensure SCADA systems control power generation onto the utility grid per project requirements.
- Collaborate with in-house resources, consultants, and EPCs to achieve project milestones.
- Review and comment on SCADA engineering design.
- Plan and schedule work, coordinating vendors and project priorities.
- Report daily, weekly, and monthly progress to management.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Automation Systems, or related field.
- Experience or education in SCADA programming, integration, and commissioning.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of SCADA and control system architecture, PLC programming, and automation protocols (Modbus, DNP3, CAN, OPC, EtherNet/IP, etc.).
- Familiarity with Ignition, OPC protocol, SCADA historians, and renewable energy SCADA systems.
- Understanding of RTU-to-RTU interfaces, electrical schematics, AC/DC circuits, utility meters, substation RTAC, protection relays, and managed switches (Hirschman s, MOXA, Cisco).
- Knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, and firewalls.
- Experience with 0 10V and 4 20mA loops and troubleshooting.
- Project management experience coordinating multiple vendors, consultants, and EPCs.
Physical Requirements / Working Environment:
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently.
- Standing for extended periods and desk work at a computer monitor.
- Bending, stooping, twisting frequently to move inventory or items.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle for commuting between worksites.
