We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Support Specialist to join our team in Columbus, OH. In this role, you will provide critical technical support for laboratory equipment, ensuring that our scientists can seamlessly operate the hardware and software essential to their research. Your expertise will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our lab technology infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Deliver prompt and effective support for laboratory hardware and software, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- User Assistance: Serve as the primary point of contact for scientists experiencing technical issues, providing clear guidance and solutions to minimize research disruptions.
- Equipment Management: Monitor and maintain lab equipment to ensure optimal performance, including performing regular updates and preventive maintenance.
- Training & Enablement: Conduct training sessions and create user-friendly guides to help researchers effectively utilize lab technologies.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of support activities, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with scientists and IT colleagues to resolve technical challenges and implement improvements in lab systems.
- Vendor Coordination: Communicate with equipment vendors for technical support, repairs, and upgrades as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in IT support, preferably within a laboratory or research environment.
- Strong understanding of lab-specific hardware and software systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards relevant to laboratory environments is a plus.
