Cybersecurity Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and manage secure systems that protect critical business operations and sensitive data. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative IT environment where your technical expertise and strategic thinking will directly impact the organization s risk posture, resilience, and overall cybersecurity maturity. Location: Altadena, CA
Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $88,000 $149,000 annually.

What You ll Do:


  • Develop and execute comprehensive risk management strategies and a security roadmap aligned to business priorities.
  • Design and maintain secure network and infrastructure solutions ensuring compliance with HIPAA HITECH and NIST standards.
  • Monitor systems, detect and respond to security incidents, and lead remediation efforts.
  • Evaluate and implement new security technologies, tools, and controls to improve the organization s cybersecurity posture.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance policies, documentation, and awareness programs supporting ongoing security readiness.

What Gets You the Job:


  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, incident detection, response, and forensics.
  • Certifications: COMPTIA Security+ and CCNA (CISSP or CEH preferred).
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, firewalls (VPN, IPS/IDS), and scripting in Python or PowerShell.
  • Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail with a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
