How you'll make an impact:

As part of the Automated Test Development Team, the Test Engineer will help analyze and understand requirements to create and define test cases for use in our Automation Framework. This utilizes a variety of skills including ruby programming and integration with our proprietary tools. The test framework and test cases are utilized by internal and external customers.

What you'll do:
  • Work closely with our Product, UX and other teams to understand requirements and create automated test cases.
  • These test cases are written in the Gherkin BDD format and utilize defined step definitions in our testing framework to exercise all aspects of a product, ensuring compliance with requirements.
  • You will write the test cases, and the supporting software in the Ruby scripting language.
  • You will run test cases against internal reference applications to validate the test cases.
  • You will perform triage of failures found during your own validation testing, or by others.
  • You will perform bug fixing of test cases.
  • You will maintain a close working relationship and collaboration with client's team leads and SMEs
  • You will review the code of the other team members, provide constructive feedback, and help to increase the quality
  • You will follow all technical procedures, documentation, and standard processes.
  • You will work proactively to understand project backlog of work for one or more sprints ahead asking for clarity of requirements and acceptance criteria where required
  • You will investigate better solutions to current implementation, assess the effort and propose for improvement
  • You will participate in technical presentations

What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, software engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 1- 3 years engineering experience in software development or software QA test.
  • Experience with automated software test frameworks
  • Experience with git, or similar source control
  • Scripting language experience with Ruby, Perl, Python or other similar language.
  • MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Experience in Ticket Creation/Bug Tracking tools such as JIRA
  • PC hardware architecture, including USB etc.
  • Good public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
  • Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles.
  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
  • Spelling, grammar, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have legal right to work in the US.
