job summary:

We are seeking a true Senior Scrum Master (not a PM) to support a leading Cybersecurity Services team within the Office of the CISO. This is an opportunity to lead Scrum ceremonies, enable engineering teams, and support cybersecurity-focused development initiatives that directly impact the protection of IT assets, data, and enterprise applications.


This role will work closely with Product Owners, cybersecurity stakeholders, and engineering teams to ensure high-quality, secure delivery in a fast-paced environment. Advanced Jira + JQL skills are non-negotiable.

responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and demos.
  • Partner closely with Product Owners to manage, refine, and prioritize the product backlog.
  • Support software development teams on small-medium sized cybersecurity or security-related application projects.
  • Proactively identify blockers, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Track, update, and report on all Scrum activities daily.
  • Build and maintain advanced Jira dashboards, leveraging expert-level JQL for reporting and metrics.
  • Foster strong communication and relationships across engineering, product, and cybersecurity teams.




qualifications:

Required Qualifications


6-10 years of experience as a Scrum Master (must be hands-on, not PM-focused).


Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.).


Strong background supporting software development teams.


Advanced Jira + JQL proficiency (must be demonstrated).


Experience with Agile transformation initiatives.


Excellent communication, leadership, team-building, and organizational skills.


Preferred Experience


Cybersecurity project experience


Financial services industry background


Agile certifications such as PMI-ACP, CSM, CSP, or similar


Additional Details


Hybrid: 3 days onsite in Westlake, TX
