About the Role & Team

As an Area Manager - Entertainment Technical Maintenance you will provide command and control leadership to Tech and Show Services, union hourly, non-union hourly, and support Cast assigned to a department's crews in all shifts, driving consistency among the various teams within the department.

What You Will Do:
  • You will lead and supervise performance to organizational targets and goals to include Cast Member safety goals, financial targets, new project development/special events, personnel/staffing targets, project due dates, preventative maintenance strategy/completion, reliability targets, and reactive repair work to support operational park hours.
  • You will communicate in real time, as required, to leaders in your reporting structure as well as leaders of other organizations that are considered clients.


Management and Leadership
  • Project a positive image and energy, drive motivation in the workforce, while ensuring a culture of fairness and accountability.
  • Develop and implement safety strategies that continue to improve the safety of Guest and Cast, promoting a safety culture of proactively addressing concerns and thoroughly investigating every injury or near miss.
  • Build a culture within your team that applies urgency to problem solving and implementation.
  • Mentor, train, and coach Cast Members on how to perform their job safely and effectively.
  • Work with Senior Manager and Integrated Facilities Planning (IFP) team to support IFP job development and priorities.
  • Understand the IATSE, CMC, and other related contracts to administer the guidelines fairly and consistently.
  • Strive for continuous improvement, driving strategic measures to improve guest service, cast support and operational/equipment efficiency


Technical Capability
  • Effectively lead projects including scope development, budgeting, resource management, scheduling, and communication.
  • Demonstrate technical capability in applicable areas such as overall entertainment offerings, mechanical, electrical, controls, etc. Improve technical proficiencies in areas that are not a strength.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency with our safety programs, standards, and department business practices and policies.
  • Ensure quality of completed preventive maintenance and reconcile to job plans.
  • Demonstrate and apply strong computer skills and embrace technology.


Relationships
  • Cultivate relationships within FOS and Entertainment, as well as other partners and clients to advance business goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with reporting Cast and handle conflict resolution.
  • Honor your commitments to strengthen collaborations with Cast Members.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with union representatives


Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • 1 year of leadership experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of organization.
  • Ability to access equipment pits, work platforms, catwalks, roofs, and similar areas via ladder.
  • Experience working in a Maintenance/Technical environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reading blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Proficiency with MAXIMO.
  • Proven experience and strong understanding of process control & mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Guest Service experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with administrative and human resource processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Computer proficiency within a Windows environment.
  • This position will require a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays and first/second/third shifts as needed.
  • This position includes work from ladders, elevated platforms, and confined spaces.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of leadership and technical experience.
  • Experience with budgets and scheduling management.
  • Strong background in maintenance management.


Education:
  • BA/BS degree in technical field of study or proven experience in related field.

The hiring range for this position in California is $123,000 to $152,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
