We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect with a strong specialization in Master Data Management (MDM) to lead a transformative, large-scale Boomi-based MDM initiative for one of our enterprise clients in the construction industry. This pivotal role is responsible for designing and orchestrating the enterprise data architecture-integrating people, process, and technology-to establish a single source of truth across all critical business systems.
This position will require you to balance strategic foresight with technical execution, ensuring that data governance, integration, and architecture align with long-term business goals. You will work with cross-functional teams, senior stakeholders, and implementation partners to create a future-ready data ecosystem that supports organizational growth and operational excellence.
What You'll Do:
Establish Data Governance:
- Define and implement data governance policies, standards, and frameworks across core data domains (e.g., customers, suppliers, employees, projects, and code sets).
- Build processes for data stewardship, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to compliance requirements.
Design the Future-State Architecture:
- Develop and communicate a target enterprise architecture blueprint that integrates ERP, MDM, and Project Financial Management (PFM) systems.
- Ensure architectural alignment with business objectives and scalability for future growth.
Map Architecture to the Program Roadmap:
- Create architectural views and sequencing aligned with the ERP, MDM, and PFM deployment schedules.
- Anticipate and manage dependencies, data flows, and integrations throughout the program lifecycle.
Define Integration & Interoperability Frameworks:
- Design robust integration strategies using standards like APIs, middleware, and synchronization models to connect ERP, MDM, and custom applications.
- Ensure seamless data interoperability across systems for real-time availability and reliability.
Align Business & Technology:
- Collaborate with business leaders and program teams to translate business requirements into scalable, future-state architectural solutions.
- Support construction industry-specific systems relating to project execution, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
Key Requirements:
Expertise in Master Data Management (MDM):
- Proven experience in developing and implementing MDM solutions, ideally using Boomi, with a focus on creating unified data ecosystems across enterprise environments.
Strong Data Governance & Data Quality Knowledge:
- Expertise in establishing frameworks for data governance, stewardship, and data quality improvement.
Construction Industry Experience is Required:
- Direct understanding of how enterprise systems like ERP and PFM operate in construction environments, including project management, supplier relationships, and compliance.
Enterprise Architecture (EA) Frameworks:
- Familiarity with EA frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar methodologies.
ERP Implementation Experience is a Plus:
- Hands-on experience in ERP implementation and integration, with an understanding of how ERP systems align with MDM and other enterprise systems.
Experience Level:
- Typically requires 5+ years of enterprise-level experience in architecture and large-scale data management projects.
Location:
- This is a remote position, with working hours primarily in Eastern Time (ET) or Central Time (CT) zones. Occasional travel to the Washington DC area may be required based on project and client needs.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in using Boomi's MDM platform, including data hubs, APIs, and connectors for enterprise systems.
- Strong communication skills to articulate architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving to navigate complexities of enterprise-level systems and data flows.
