Role Title: SAP VC-PP Consultant (SAP Variant Configuration & Production Planning)
Duration: 6 months+
Preferred Location: Remote - East Coast hours required
Role Description:
Our client is preparing for a major CPQ implementation. They are seeking an experienced SAP VC-PP Consultant to provide strategic guidance and hands-on expertise from the SAP Variant Configuration and Production Planning perspective. This consultant will play a key role in blueprinting, design, and optimization, ensuring everything is being pulled from SAP that needs to be for the CPQ solution as well as review current SAP VC and PP configuration and make recommendations (and implement those changes) for how they can align this with SAP best practices and potentially simplify the existing system landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with business and technical teams to analyze current VC and PP configurations and identify optimization opportunities.
- Provide expert recommendations on best practices, configuration options, and design approaches to support the upcoming CPQ implementation.
- Lead and facilitate blueprinting and solution design sessions for VC/PP integration with CPQ.
- Assess current processes and data structures to ensure scalability, maintainability, and system efficiency.
- Develop comprehensive documentation, including process flows, configuration guides, and design specifications.
- Advise on how to leverage SAP best practices to avoid system bloat while supporting business goals.
- Support the project team in aligning IBP (Integrated Business Planning) with VC/PP where applicable.
- Act as a trusted advisor to providing clear insights to support decision-making.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of SAP experience with a focus on Variant Configuration (VC) and Production Planning (PP).
- Proven experience in SAP design, implementation, and integration projects for SAP VC/PP.
- Strong understanding of SAP best practices in VC/PP and related modules.
- Ability to assess existing configurations and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills and able to articulate complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, maintaining alignment across teams.
- Must be available to work Eastern Time Zone hours from 8-5 ET.
- Prior exposure to IBP (Integrated Business Planning) is a plus.
