Engineering Technology Strategy Manager

The Phantom Works Engineering team is seeking an Engineering Technology Strategy Manager to lead the Technology Strategy team in Berkeley, MO.

This Management position has a responsibility for leading the development, implementation, maintenance, and communication of the Phantom Works Research and Development (R&D) portfolio of Internal Research and Development (IRAD) and Internal Application Development (IAD) investments. This position reports to the Vice President and Chief Engineer of Phantom Works.

Position Responsibilities
  • Coordinating the organizational planning and communication for technical needs and other technology planning data. This requires working with all Phantom Works Technology Development organizations that have technology investment budgets.
  • Maintaining comprehensive data on the Phantom Works R&D portfolio, and preparing and delivering briefings to senior leadership teams
  • Assembling data and preparing briefings and other products technology investments
  • Serving as focal for information regarding Phantom Works R&D needs and current or planned technology investments.
  • Coordinating the Phantom Works response on technology aspects of regulatory requirements such as annual IRAD reports to the Government, and the response to Government requests for information about R&D investments.
  • Tracking status and coordinating the capture of data and other activities associated with quarterly reviews of the execution of R&D funds for the Phantom Works Leadership Team in coordination with Global Sales and Marketing, Strategy and Finance.
  • Coordinating Boeing's response to the government's request to support Technical Interchange Meetings as advertised in DoD Defense Innovation Marketplace.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (ship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience)
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Capture Team Lead for new development programs
  • 3+ years of experience leading work through the standard gate process and implementing technology strategies
  • 3+ years of experience working with IRAD and /or IAD portfolio development and execution processes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working across multiple BDS businesses and functional areas
  • Experience working with the Phantom Works portfolio and new technology development
  • Experience with the various databases which support technology planning (SPOT) and execution (IR&D Planner)
