Location: Hayward, CA

Length: 6 month contract to hire

Responsibilities/Summary:

For this position you will be tasked with maintaining the hardware infrastructure of the latest cloud computing server technologies. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly and accurately resolve issues with server and network hardware through root cause analysis with a solid understanding of computers, servers, network devices and command line diagnostics.

You must possess:

Technical aptitude and the ability to communicate advanced technical information with a variety individuals of varying technical knowledge, good situational awareness, the capability to contribute to strong inter and intra-team development, strong analytical skills, demonstrated problem solving ability, and the ability to operate solo or as part of a team with varying degrees of supervision.

This position requires the ability to successfully operate in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations while handling multiple critical priorities simultaneously.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate effective examples of situations where personal initiative and judgment were used to benefit team objectives.

Additional Skills:

1+ year of Server experience.

1+ years of Computer Networking experience.

1+ years of Linux Operating Systems experience.

Key job responsibilities

Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed/required

Serving as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors

Performing on-call duties and participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities

Contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on your analysis of operational issues

Helping to train and onboard new team members

Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds

Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed

Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments

Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day

Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
