Required Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
8+ years of experience in writing and executing test cases and creating test plans.
8+ years of experience with software usability concepts, requirements traceability, and SDLC.
8+ years of experience with Xray Test Case Management Tool.
8+ years of experience writing SQL queries for CRUD operations.
8+ years of experience using CI/CD pipelines in testing processes.
8+ years of experience in API testing using Postman, SOAPUI, JMETER, or similar tools.
8+ years of experience in test automation scripting using UFT.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
Experience with performance testing tools and reviewing performance test results.
Familiarity with code coverage tools and systems analysis/design.
Experience developing detailed UAT test plans and recording results.
Strong coordination and communication skills for UAT readiness and stakeholder engagement.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in Agile teams.
Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
Experience working with the State of Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) systems.
Summary:
The QA Automation Analyst is a senior-level quality assurance professional responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining both manual and automated test scripts.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring software quality by investigating and diagnosing quality complaints, verifying logs and databases, and recommending corrective actions.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Agile environments, test automation using UFT, API testing, and working with tools like Jira, Xray, and SQL. Experience with the State of Texas HHS systems is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Investigate and diagnose quality complaints, trace components, and recommend corrective actions.
Verify logs, databases, and other data sources to identify and flag quality concerns and improvements.
Develop and maintain manual and automated test scripts.
Prepare and align UAT test cases with business requirements; conduct walkthroughs with stakeholders.
Track test case execution and provide detailed reporting.
Log and manage defects using Jira; ensure traceability using Xray and traceability matrices.
Support development teams across dev, test, and UAT environments.
Perform various types of testing: unit, integration, regression, smoke, UAT, system, stress, and performance.
Conduct API testing using tools like Postman, SOAPUI, or JMETER.
Write and execute SQL queries for CRUD operations.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint goals.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members.
Coordinate UAT schedules and provide go/no-go recommendations.
