We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Planning Analyst / Merchandise Planner to join our Planning & Allocation team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving profitable sales growth by developing, analyzing, and executing sales, inventory, and margin plans that support business strategies.
Analyze historical data and current business trends to identify risks and opportunities by division, department, and class.
Develop preseason sales, gross margin, and inventory plans that align with company and product strategies.
Reconcile top-down and bottom-up planning forecasts to ensure alignment across the business.
Reforecast sales and manage inventory for basic styles and color variants to meet financial and operational goals.
Communicate weekly financial results and insights to cross-functional partners; recommend in-season pricing or inventory actions.
Support Monthly Open-to-Buy (OTB) forecasting, reconciling receipts, and ensuring action plans align with financial targets.
Partner with cross-functional teams to roll out new inventory strategies and planning initiatives.
3 5 years of experience in Inventory Planning, Merchandise Planning, Buying, or Allocation within the retail/apparel industry.
Strong Excel skills and proficiency with planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA, or similar).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and forecasting skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
Strong business acumen and strategic agility; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proven track record of maintaining item-level forecasts and identifying trends or risks to support agile business decisions.
Experience with sales forecasting, inventory optimization, and receipt reconciliation.
Exposure to Open-to-Buy management and financial modeling.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance short-term needs and long-term planning.
