Job Definition & Scheduling:
- defining, scheduling, and monitoring complex IT operations across various systems, including cloud and on-premises environments, using the JP1/Automatic Job Management System (AJS3).
- Professionals in these roles automate business processes, ensure data processing and report generation, and respond to system errors, often utilizing a graphical interface and managing workload automation for improved efficiency and stability.
- Define, sequence, and schedule various IT jobs, including batch processes, data collection, and report generation, using a fixed schedule or in response to specific events.
Monitoring & Management:
Monitor job execution status through a graphical interface, visualize complex systems and workflows, and manage actual execution results to ensure timely and efficient completion.
Automation:
Automate complex operational tasks to reduce manual effort, prevent human errors, and standardize work processes within IT environments.
Cross-Platform Integration:
Automate operations within hybrid cloud environments by defining cloud-based services as single jobs, allowing for integration and monitoring alongside other system jobs.
Error Handling:
Monitor for job failures and implement recovery actions, such as retrying applications or starting recovery jobs, to ensure business continuity.
Required Skills
JP1/AJS3 Expertise:
Deep knowledge of the Hitachi JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 for workload automation.
Automation & Scripting:
Ability to develop and implement automation scripts to streamline and manage IT processes.
System Monitoring:
Experience with monitoring tools to track the performance and status of automated jobs and systems.
Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical skills to quickly identify the causes of problems and implement effective solutions.
GUI Familiarity:
Proficiency in using a graphical user interface (GUI) for defining, controlling, and monitoring jobs.
Understanding of IT Infrastructure:
Knowledge of operating systems, cloud platforms, and various enterprise applications.
