Job Details

Job Title: Application Support engineer [DevOps, SRE, AWS]

Location: Jersey City, NJ

Experience Level - 8+ Years

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide operational support in a 24/7 team environment, primarily covering the Easter Standard Time [EST] shift. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility to work other time zones and shifts when needed, including weekends or non-standard hours, to ensure continuous team coverage. While we value empathy for work-life balance, adaptability and responsiveness during peak demand and critical incidents are essential.
  • Incident management, change management and release management for production and lower environments.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and clients across US and international time zones.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting, monitoring and technology support for payments platform.
  • Write scripts, queries and automation Unix, database (RDS, Postgres, Oracle), Terraform, AWS.
  • Support centralized, co-located team operations in Jersey City.
  • Assist in onboarding new technologies and integrating anomaly detection platforms.
  • Participate in regular, in-person interviews, team reviews, and probation evaluation exercise.

Must have criteria:

  • Experience: Minimum 7-8 years in the technology domain, ideally in financial services or payment systems.
  • DevOps & SRE: Strong hands-on ability, deep understanding of release, incident and Change management.

Technical skills:

o Advanced AWS experience (Certification is a plus), hands-on with RDS, Postgre, Oracle.

o Proficient in Terraform and HashiCorp toolsets.

o Strong Unix/Database scripting ability.

  • Operational Flexibility: Willing and able to support round-the-clock operations, including weekends and overnight shifts as needed.
  • Communication & Attitude: Outstanding verbal and written communication, resilient and pro-active under pressure, positive team player.

Nice to have skills:

  • Experience with Anomaly detection, AI integrations, or Machine learning.
  • Knowledge of blockchain platforms or related technologies.
  • Exposure to financial compliance norms and multi region client engagements.
  • Prior work in payments or relevant fintech environments.
