Position Title: Lead Programmer Analyst
Position Location: One Moody Plaza, Galveston, TX 77550
Salary: $149,947 - $176,300 per year
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Summary of Duties:
Lead software development and SDLC, designing and testing ASM/COBOL programs based on requirements using Cyberlife and internal systems. Solve for policy-specific errors and abends, on-call duties such as resolving and diagnosing abends and correcting errors within the nightly batch cycle, acting as the backup to the on-call team to address the most difficult problems that arise, and making decisions that will positively influence the up-time and full recovery of the CyberLife mainframe system from outages. Determine CyberLife system modifications required to satisfy business requests, and provide analysis and design of requirements for service requests and programming assignments. Assume responsibility for difficult programming tasks for the CyberLife system by performing independent programming utilizing tools such as Zeke, Zena, Abend-Aid, CMOD Content Navigator, TSO/ISPF, File-Aid, SyncSort, z/OS Connect, Xpeditor, and SCLM. Test system modifications. Lead small technical teams or projects and conduct peer reviews, provide mentoring to junior team members, and act as a technical lead when assisting with on-call duties. Prioritize service requests specific to life insurance products and CyberLife time-driven errors. Utilize knowledge of life insurance processes and the CyberLife system specifically, to address issues with accounting, illustration and product implementation, policy conversions and loans, APIs, pending file analysis, file I/O, and claims. Apply advanced principles and techniques of computer programming and programming languages such as COBOL, Assembler, JCL (Job Control Language), DB2, and REXX.
Position is based out of and reports to the Galveston office. May work 100% remotely from home and telecommute from anywhere in the U.S.
Education requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Electronics & Communications Engineering or closely related field
Experience requirements: 7 years' experience in CyberLife (or its predecessor CK4) development projects.
Special Skills or Other Requirements:
The experience must have included each of the following duties:
Working on large scale COBOL-based mainframe systems and JCL. Experience Agile development, batch processing on mainframes; software development life cycle (SDLC). Determining appropriate system modifications. Design, code, troubleshoot, test and implement of CyberLife/CK4 application according to business requirements. Coding and testing system changes using COBOL, ASM, JCL, DB2, REXX, Xpeditor, TSO/ISPF. Ensuing solutions fit within system standards. Mentoring team members, and conducting peer reviews.
