Job Description:

• Under direct supervision, helps design, develop, troubleshoot, and analyze software programs for computer-based systems.


• Assists in evaluating/determining user needs with the maintenance of single-product models and subsystems.


• Performs routine systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.


• As required, provides inputs for documentation of new or existing programs.


• Primarily interfaces with intra-organizational staff with infrequent contact with inter-organizational staff and outside customers and vendors on routine matters.


• Supports maintenance and or new application development under supervision of technical leadership.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related engineering discipline


• 0-2 years' experience in software development or maintenance


• Software Engineering experience or familiarity with Java or C++


• Familiar with Agile development methodologies

Preferred Requirements:

• Familiar with Object Oriented design/development including the employment of Design Patterns to facilitate the utilization of software insulation techniques and plugins


• Familiar with Linux and UNIX development and test environments


• Familiar with Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Eclipse or VSCode


• Familiar with UML syntax and its use in Model-based tools like Rapsody


• Familiar with Git version control system


• Familiar with issue tracking systems like JIRA or Trello


• Familiarity with any of the following:


• XUnit architecture testing fir unit testing like Google Test, jUnit, cppUnit Lite


• Tcl/Tk


• Ada


• Atlassian tool suite including Jira, BitBucket, and Confluence


• Data Distribution Service (DDS)


• DevSecOps and Automation tool experience like SonarQube and Jenkins
