About the Team
Southern Nuclear
Fuel Supply Engineer- Birmingham
The position responsibilities include:
- Develop procurement and inventory strategies for uranium, conversion, enrichment, and nuclear fuel fabrication
- Negotiate contractual terms and conditions for nuclear fuel supply contracts to deliver upon innovations to support expanding our fleet of nuclear units
- Perform contract administration functions by interfacing with suppliers to provide delivery notices, complete material transactions and resolve contractual issues
- Manage nuclear fuel inventories in accordance with established strategy
- Prepare nuclear fuel amortization rates and monthly amortization reports
- Perform economic evaluation of fuel supply offers and potential fuel product innovations
- Perform oversight of fuel fabrication services at vendor locations, ensuring compliance with quality program and contractual terms and conditions
- Support implementation of fuel platform innovations to enable power uprates for the nuclear fleet and transitions to 24-month fuel cycles
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
Desired Attributes
- MBA or Project Management (PMP) certification
- Experience with quality control programs and associated regulations (10CFR50, 10CFR21, NQA-1)
- Experience with contract negotiation, procurement, and procurement strategy development
- Experience with the nuclear fuel cycle
- Experience with business analytic and project management software tools, such as PowerBI, Microsoft Project, Excel.
