Job Details

Job Title: Mainframe IMS DB Developer (7 Open Roles)
Location: Wilmington, DE 100% Onsite (No Hybrid)
Type: Long-Term Contract

Detailed Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience in COBOL development for both batch and online applications.

< data-start="531" data-end="561">Mainframe Environment</>

  • Solid understanding of IBM z/OS mainframe operating systems.

< data-start="630" data-end="660">Database Technologies</>

  • Expertise in IMS Database (IMS/DB) structures, indexing, hierarchical databases, and data retrieval strategies.

  • Experience working with IMS/DC for transaction processing.

< data-start="845" data-end="876">Transaction Processing</>

  • Strong knowledge of CICS including program control, file control, TD/TS queues, and debugging CICS transactions.

< data-start="997" data-end="1028">Batch Processing / JCL</>

  • Ability to write, modify, and optimize JCL scripts for batch jobs including PROCs, utilities, scheduling, and error analysis.

< data-start="1162" data-end="1200">System Administration (Basic)</>

  • Understanding of mainframe tasks like:

    • Dataset creation & management

    • Utilities (IEBGENER, IDCAMS, DFSORT, etc.)

    • Security concepts (RACF or equivalent)
