Description
We are looking for an experienced IT Asset Manager to oversee the lifecycle management of IT hardware and peripherals, from procurement and inventory tracking to distribution and disposal. This role is vital for ensuring efficient operations, compliance, and cost-effective utilization of IT resources. This is a Contract-to-Continuing position based in Savannah, Georgia.
Responsibilities:
Manage the procurement of IT hardware, including sourcing vendors, negotiating pricing, and ensuring timely delivery of equipment.
Oversee receiving processes, inspecting shipments for accuracy, and preparing new hardware for deployment.
Maintain accurate inventory records using designated asset management tools and conduct routine audits to ensure compliance.
Coordinate the distribution and deployment of IT assets to employees and departments, including preparation for shipping to remote locations.
Handle the secure disposal of decommissioned IT assets, ensuring proper data sanitization and adherence to environmental standards.
Document asset management policies, workflows, and procedures to ensure clarity and consistency.
Generate detailed reports on inventory, procurement costs, asset utilization, and lifecycle status to aid in decision-making.
Continuously assess and improve asset management processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Monitor asset lifecycles, including warranties and depreciation, to optimize resource utilization.
Collaborate with IT leadership to forecast hardware needs and align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in IT asset management, inventory tracking, or procurement roles.
Familiarity with IT asset management software such as ServiceNow, Ivanti, or SolarWinds.
Strong knowledge of IT hardware components, peripherals, and their lifecycle management.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements for asset management.
