Classification Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.
Job Description:
The Data Analyst will work under the direct supervision of College of Pharmacy, Professor, Dr. Park. Candidate's primary focus will be in manipulating large healthcare claims data or electronic health records (e.g., data cleaning, creating variables), applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with large health care datasets. Candidate will also assist faculty or students with statistical analysis on ongoing research or new research. Candidate will have experience with statistical or data mining software (e.g., SAS, Stata, R, Python, ) and analyzing data from a range of projects related to medication utilization and health outcomes.
Duties include:
Expected Salary:
$25-$35/hour commensurate with education and experience.

Duties include:
- Data Management
- Perform database management, statistical analyses and manipulations using SAS, R, Access and visual basic programming
- Data mining using state-of-the-art methods such as deep learning
- Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
- Developing and implementing programs to process and manipulate large datasets
- Providing data programming and analytic support on a range of research projects
- Preparation of presentations and manuscripts
- Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance
- Statistical Analysis
- Supporting study design, analysis plan data collection, and grant application
- Write statistical programming code in SAS (preferred), R, or STATA
- Conducting and participating in study review and data security and quality monitoring
- Preparing study reports with both tabular and graphical data presentations
- Supporting educational opportunities to help researchers and students become more effective at study design, data management and study analysis
- Laboratory Management
- Interpret administrative regulations including HIPAA and policies related to statistical research studies
- Recommend new and improved programs to effectively manage studies
- Assure laboratory staff are in compliance with HIPAA regulations and other federal confidentiality standards

- Experience with common data science and statistical toolkits, such as R, Python, MatLab, SAS etc. Excellence in at least one of these is highly desirable
- Experience with working with large healthcare datasets including insurance claims data and electronic health records
- Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL
- Strong in applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
