Senior .NET Web Developer / UX-Designer
Houston, TX - REMOTE
6 Months Contract
We are currently hiring candidates who are authorized to work on our W2.
Candidate with previous state/govt client experience is preferred.
We re looking for a unique professional who combines strong .NET development expertise with UX/UI design skills to bridge technology and design for this critical public-sector initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Stack Development:
- Build and enhance backend services using .NET Core / ASP.NET MVC / Web API.
- Design and manage relational databases (SQL Server or equivalent).
- Ensure performance, scalability, and security of the system.
- UX/UI Design & Frontend:
- Translate business and user needs into intuitive, accessible user interfaces.
- Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using Figma / Adobe XD / Sketch.
- Implement responsive, accessible designs using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (and modern frameworks).
- Conduct usability testing and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
- Collaboration & Delivery:
- Work closely with H-GAC stakeholders to align technical and design deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with WCAG accessibility standards and government procurement rules.
- Participate in requirement gathering, sprint reviews, testing, and documentation.
Required Skills & Experience
- .NET Development:
- Proficiency in .NET Core / ASP.NET MVC / Web API, C#, Entity Framework, and SQL Server.
- Experience with authentication/authorization, role-based access, and secure coding.
- UX/UI Design:
- Hands-on experience with design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).
- Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and usability best practices.
- Ability to produce design deliverables (wireframes, prototypes) and implement them in code.
- General:
- Portfolio showcasing both technical development work and UX/UI projects.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working on large web applications or portals with multiple user roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with government / public-sector web applications.
- Familiarity with procurement systems or cooperative purchasing platforms.
- Cloud experience (Azure or AWS).
