Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) Architect

Location : (100% Remote)

Duration : 3 Month W/Extension

Pay : $100/Hr W2

Job Responsibilities

Architectural Design & Integration

-Define and own the end-to-end architecture for WCS solutions, focusing on robust integrations with WMS, ERP, and automation systems.

-Design scalable, robust, fault-tolerant integrations using integration patterns commonly used in the warehouse automation industry.

-Develop architectural blueprints and detailed design specifications for integration flows, data models, and system interfaces.

Integration Strategy & Governance

-Establish integration standards, patterns, and best practices for real-time and batch communication.

-Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and performance requirements.

Implement logging, monitoring and alerting systems for integration health and performance.

Collaboration & Leadership

-Work closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, vendors) to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

-Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams on integration methodologies.

-Partner with automation vendors (e.g., Knapp, Honeywell) to ensure compatibility and reliability of integrations.

Performance & Optimization

-Conduct system evaluations and performance tuning for high-volume transaction environments.

-Troubleshoot complex integration issues across multiple platforms and recommend long-term solutions.

Job Requirements:

Technical Expertise

-Strong knowledge of WCS architecture and integration with WMS and automated systems.

-Proficiency in integration technologies and integration patterns commonly in use in the warehouse automation industry: TCP/IP sockets, file transfer, APIs, message brokers, enterprise service bus.

-Experience with the nuances of integrating with high-speed automation systems including latency requirements and failure modes.

-SQL and database skills including writing, optimizing and debugging stored procedures.

Software & Tools

-Hands-on experience with .NET/C# for integration development.
