Job Description (JD)::

Project Scope:

Client seeks highly qualified candidates to fill the Data Analyst position within the DSHS Environmental Epidemiology and Disease Registries Section.

Roles/Responsibilities:

This position performs senior-level consultative and technical assistance work in DSHS analysis for program activities. Responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing DSHS priority initiatives and special projects
  • Researching, documenting data requirements
  • Ensuring adherence to data best practices and standards
  • Supporting optimization of DSHS operations and program functions
  • Providing recommendations to leadership
  • Acquiring data from various sources, creating regular reports, correcting code issues, and maintaining organized, error-free databases
  • Developing analytical tools, defining data requirements, and leading special projects
  • Working under limited direction with high independence and judgment

Mandatory Skills (8 years):

  • Ability to research, gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; develop solutions; prepare concise reports; solve complex problems; prioritize information
  • Ability to transform data into information for decision-making and present reports identifying gaps in technology and operational effectiveness
  • Developing or contributing to as-is / to-be data models for operational efficiencies
  • Analyzing data policies and procedures and determining their impact on automated systems
  • Acquiring data from multiple sources, generating regular reports, analyzing trends/correlations, developing metadata, tables, and UI for reports
  • Using creativity and specialized reporting tools to develop data reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • 5 years using reporting tools to develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations
  • 5 years developing strategic/project SDLC materials (gap analysis, roadmaps, requirements, diagrams, test cases, etc.)
  • 1 year State or Federal Public Sector experience.
