Job Title: Workplace Design Program Manager

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid 2 3 days onsite at Times Square or Union Square office)

Travel: Occasional domestic & international travel required

Employment Type: 8+ months contract (possible extension or conversion)

Payrate: $56/hr. on W2

About the Role

We re seeking a Design Program Manager to join a Global Workplace Design & Innovation Team within a leading global organization. This role blends creative design expertise with project management leadership to deliver inspiring, functional, and on-brand workplace environments. You ll oversee projects from concept to completion from interior design and furniture selection to experiential graphics and brand integration ensuring they meet global design standards, budgets, and timelines. You ll be the primary point of contact for design on selected projects and collaborate with architects, vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders across multiple regions. This position will focus primarily on projects in the US East Coast and EMEA regions, with occasional support for other global locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary design lead for select workplace projects, including interior design, space programming, furniture selection, and experiential graphic design.
  • Partner with architects, contractors, furniture vendors, and branding teams to ensure projects meet established design standards and functional needs.
  • Manage refreshes and small-scale upgrades at existing office sites.
  • Oversee furniture packages, ensuring compliance with design guidelines, ergonomics, and performance requirements.
  • Review and approve design, construction, and furniture drawings.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support environmental graphics and signage design in coordination with brand teams.
  • Ensure budget alignment by guiding design decisions and monitoring costs.
  • Maintain project documentation and status updates.
  • Represent the Workplace Design team in project meetings and global collaboration calls.
  • Support RFP processes for design and construction vendors as needed.

Qualifications

  • 7 10 years of experience in workplace design, interior design, or architecture for corporate/commercial environments.
  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in interior design (CIDA-accredited) or Architecture (NAAB/CACB-accredited).
  • Professional licensure in Interior Design or Architecture (or in progress) preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple design projects from concept through construction.
  • Strong understanding of furniture systems, space planning, ergonomics, and workplace design standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to leadership and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Acrobat, Express), Microsoft PowerPoint, and collaboration tools like Slack and Teams.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
