Job Description:
This role focuses on building backend data systems that support the secure, standards-based exchange of healthcare information. You'll play a critical role in developing and optimizing pipelines that automate how clinical records are retrieved, transformed, and transferred. The ideal candidate will have experience working with HL7/FHIR standards, backend APIs, ETL tools, and AWS services in a production environment.

This role focuses on building backend data systems that support the secure, standards-based exchange of healthcare information. You'll play a critical role in developing and optimizing pipelines that automate how clinical records are retrieved, transformed, and transferred. The ideal candidate will have experience working with HL7/FHIR standards, backend APIs, ETL tools, and AWS services in a production environment.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in .NET/C#
- Deep expertise of HL7/FHIR protocols and healthcare data formats
- Hands-on recent experience building ETL pipelines using Apache NiFi
- Must have hands-on Apache NiFi coding experience
- Proficient with AWS, including:
- Glue (ETL)
- Lambda (serverless backend functions)
- S3/RDS (data storage and management)
- API Gateway, EventBridge, SNS/SQS (integration/messaging)
- Mission Cloud
- Familiar with headless system architectures and non-UI data workflows
- Able to independently troubleshoot backend issues and improve system reliability
- Experience with Apache NiFi v1.27+
- Familiarity with AWS HealthLake or other FHIR-native healthcare data services
- Prior work developing platforms that support ROI (Release of Information) or patient data exchange
- AWS Certifications
- Background in microservices and Kubernetes-based deployments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
