Your Contribution

As a Corrosion Test Engineer you will be responsible for the external corrosion testing and internal corrosion testing (with flowing coolants) of automotive and commercial vehicle aluminum brazed heat exchangers as well as associated ferrous components. Responsible for managing corrosion test order workflow, adherence to specifications, equipment maintenance, and report approval.

The role is responsible to:
  • Operate the corrosion test laboratory to customer specifications and work instructions.
  • Processlaboratory workflow orders, scheduling, chemical ordering, tracks incoming parts, and prepares parts for testing
  • Review and approves test reports
  • Direct corrosion laboratory technician(s)
  • Maintain equipment by leveraging the Thermal and Fluid Systems Product Validation staff using group funding
  • Work with Thermal and Fluid Systems product engineers, develops new laboratory analysis methods and associated work instructions
  • Maintains laboratory scope and chemical approval listing
  • Work with material engineering staff for technical assistance on unusual failure modes and analysis reports
  • Participate in laboratory internal and external audits
  • Follow site and laboratory safety procedures
  • Book hours in SAP

Your Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 2-Years of professional experience within a laboratory environment with aluminum heat exchanger materials and their associated corrosion science
  • Experience wiht stainless-steel materials including welding preferred
  • Team Lead experience preferred.
