Job Description:



We are looking for an experienced Operational Support Engineer with deep expertise in Windows, VMware, and enterprise storage platforms to support ongoing infrastructure operations and critical storage migration efforts. This role is integral in ensuring system reliability, performance, and seamless integration across multiple platforms.





Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute migration of DFS namespace-mapped storage from NetApp to VAST platforms.
  • Provide daily operational support for legacy NetApp, VAST, and CIFS-based storage systems.
  • Administer and manage Dell PowerStore arrays integrated with VMware environments.
  • Monitor storage availability, usage, and performance; implement tuning strategies.
  • Maintain and execute data protection and disaster recovery plans and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across Windows, VMware, and storage layers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with infrastructure and application teams to align systems integration.
  • Maintain documentation of storage and virtualization systems, processes, and standards.
  • Support knowledge transfer, training, and best practice sharing among support staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing and troubleshooting:
    • NetApp, VAST, and CIFS platforms
    • Dell PowerStore storage
    • VMware vSphere/ESXi environments
    • Windows Server operating systems
  • Deep knowledge of storage protocols (e.g., NFS, iSCSI, SMB/CIFS).
  • Familiarity with data backup, replication, and DR technologies.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills for complex infrastructure troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in:
    • NetApp (e.g., NCDA)
    • VMware (e.g., VCP)
    • Microsoft (e.g., MCSA or higher)
  • Experience with cloud-based storage or hybrid storage environments.
  • Knowledge of automation/scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell, robocopy, securecopy).
  • Experience with operational tools such as VMware Aria Suite, Dell OpenManage, or similar platforms.
