Title: PSA Engineer Network Transmission

Location: Fully Remote

Duration: 6-12+ Months

Job Description:

Must-Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in customizing and delivering Energy Management Systems (EMS), preferably e-terra AEMS Reliance
  • Hands-on experience with Power Systems Applications for Transmission, such as:

Load Flow

Contingency Analysis

Power Factor Analysis

  • Strong proficiency in C++, Java, or related programming languages
  • Experience working on Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Educational background in Electrical Engineering (B.E. EEE), M.Tech (Power Systems), or Ph.D. in Power Systems
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with real-time systems exposure
  • Experience collaborating with Electric Utilities, ISOs, and TSOs

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of Electric SCADA, Power DMS, and Transmission EMS Implementations
  • Familiarity with SQL/Oracle Database, Shell Scripting, and log/debug file analysis
  • Experience installing OS patches and third-party software (Oracle, NetApp, etc.)
  • Hands-on with GitHub, ClearCase, and version control systems
  • Experience on real-time or mission-critical systems
  • Strong understanding of system configuration, application tuning, and performance optimization

Job Description:

  • The GSW PSA Engineer Network Transmission will be responsible for developing and delivering advanced Power Systems Application software for transmission networks. This role involves end-to-end project execution - from functional design through implementation, testing, and delivery - in collaboration with electric utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs), and Transmission System Operators (TSOs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement advanced Power Systems Applications for transmission networks.
  • Work on functional specifications, design, coding, integration, testing, and tuning.
  • Collaborate with electric utilities, ISOs, and TSOs to deliver robust and reliable EMS solutions.
  • Customize and enhance existing EMS/AEMS modules to meet project requirements.
  • Debug, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues in real-time environments.
  • Support installation and configuration of software components, patches, and system updates.
  • Maintain strong focus on system reliability, scalability, and performance optimization.
  • Participate in reviews and ensure compliance with design and coding standards.
  • Document technical specifications and operational procedures.

Pre-Screening Questions (Must Be Addressed in Resume or Coversheet):

  • Have you worked on Power Systems applications for transmission (Load Flow, Contingency Analysis, Power Factor, etc.)?
  • Name any Power Systems applications (Transmission) for which you have implementation expertise.
  • Do you have at least 2 years of implementation and customization experience in Power Systems applications?
  • Do you have experience in developing applications using C++ and Java?
