AVA Consulting is seeking an Interior Engineer

Location: Saline, MI

Company Background: Our client, a major employer in the area, is looking for an Interior Engineer to be part of its team in its North American operations.

Job Description:

  • Development Responsibilities: Coordinate the design and development of interior components (IP and Trim).
  • Manage component development throughout the design cycle from concept stage through to production line off by using client development methodologies and processes for vehicle development.
  • Execute design utilizing Catia V5 independently and by leading Supplier Engineers or CAD modelers.
  • Conduct packaging / layout studies.
  • Create drawings & 3D models using client's specified design process
  • Manage and continuously adjust priorities and processes to maintain project targets and deliverables i.e. schedule, performance, cost, quality
  • Visualization of issues, concerns, and gaps for responsible parts and design processes. Participate in improvement and reflection activities as required
  • Ability to travel to suppliers, NA manufacturing plants, and Client's Motor Corporation (Japan).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with suppliers, affiliates, and Client (Japan).
  • Ability to work 20% overtime.
  • Project Management experience

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of Science Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree
  • 8 years of engineering design experience with interior components
  • 8 years Engineering experience with Catia V5.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English .
